Ok, I don't recommend anyone use this tire/wheel combo. For me it works
great.

For many others it works great. I've been to 150+ many times and they
work great on the track. They look great and fit perfect.

Again, don't use this combo if you are not comfortable.

Every tire manufacture publishes their min/max and recommended wheel
widths
for each size of their tires. Check their web site or the Tirerack for
the
numbers. A quick review of the Tirerack shows that 11" is going to be a
problem for 335s.

John,

Is it safe to run 335's on 11" wheels?
I have 13.5" wheels for my 345's.

Michael,

Right. My question is how do you determine the correct backspace and
tread width to minimize alignment errors. I want to be able to take off
my street tires and put on my track tires and not change anything. The
only way to do that is with the same tread width, right?

The best solution for me would be to find a 16x8 and a 17x11 steel rim
with the same backspace as the clones. That I have not found.

If I go with 15 inch rims and want the same tread width and total
diameter, that would mean I'd need 15x8 for the front and 15x11 rims for
the rear. I have not found a 335/45-15 or a 245/50-15 from Hoosier.

Do others just not worry about alignment?

JB

I have a question/comment and need some education on this issue please.

While I think 17" wheels are great on the street ( I have them ), why
would
you want them on track only wheels, when 15" rubber is more economical,
available in more brands, compounds, and sizes. I think if the GR3,4
and 5
cars all used 15" and worked well, why change? Nobody cares what race
wheels
look like, cause if they work well, the other guy only gets to see the
tread
from the backside anyway!
