And the saga continues! 
 Thanks Dan. If I understood your post right, a Crane steel gear should work OK. I've tried to order one from several vendors but they all say the gear is on factory back order until the end of June. So, bought a bronze gear to use while waiting for the steel gear.
 The shear pin holes don't match up. I think I remember reading in the archives that when replacing the distributor gear a new hole is drilled at a 90 degree angle from the original. If thats the case then I'll wait until the steel gear arrives. But if a bronze gear is replaced on a regular basis then a new hole isn't drilled each time is it?
 Any help to further my Pantera knowledge will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
