Rather the drill. The problem is that threads are not counter sunk in 
the cam core deep enough. The unthreaded part of the bolt runs into the 
threads.

I have just gotten a 2" allen bolt, which I believe is 12.9 or so (grade 
8) and it is threaded all the way and it works, I think.

I will contact Crane and ask what they recommend and why they have done 
the cam like this.
