[DeTomaso] August 72 Pantera

Just looked at an old DeTomaso Registry for your answer and found that Chuck
Melton's VIN decoder does not match registry numbers, i.e. THPNMD04328 shows
a build date from the tag on the door as September of 1972.

THPNMD04223, 04228, 04233, 04234, 04235, 04253, and 04267 all show build
dates of August 1972

THPNMD04169 shows a build date of October 1972 and is titled as a 1973 model
 
According to the VIN decoder, all of these cars should have been built in
July. 03853 is the first I see with the D date code. 04328 is the last. Does
that mean they built 475 cars in July?

I have this (hunch)theory that no Panteras were produced in August 1972.
Does anyone on the forum have a Pantera VIN that starts with THPNME ?
