[DeTomaso] wheels

Mike,

I didn't buy the shocks they came with the car...hopefully I can find out
what the spring rates are. My stupidity...I thought a replacement spring
would be close to stock, of course that assumes that someone liked what the
manufacturer chose.

Many emails replying on the subject are saying that the manufacturers have
said the 16's were a transitional tire with manufacturers favoring 17's and
up and that they will go the way of the 15's soon? Soon to me is a few
years. I don't plan on buying new wheels for some time, so if in the next
few years the 16's are phased out that leaves me up in the air trying to
find speed rated tires again...so my tendency would be to go to the 17 front
and 18 rears...unless those emails are wrong.

The assumption is that you put the proper size front tire on the 17x8 wheel
as suggested by the wheel vendor/manufacturer and something that doesn't
rub, etc...then you follow with larger or smaller rear tire depending on
spring rates and adjust accordingly with sway bars on a skid pad.
