We're now less then 2 months away (September 15-17) from the infamous Silver State Open Road Race in Nevada. Now is the time to dust of your Pantera and get it ready to ride into infamy....At the last two Team Pantera Racing open road races the majority of our drivers won 1st and 2nd place trophys and I expect this time won't be any different.

So wotyagottado? Go on-line to pull up registration forms and get motel information. Most of us are staying downtown Ely at Hotel Nevada and if you make reservations now you shouldn't have any trouble but there are a good dozen motels all town town.

In preparing your Pantera for the ORR be sure to go to the Silver State web site
www.silverstateclassic.com to check the tech rules for your class....check your bearings, bushings, hoses, clamps, belts, etc.

If you just plan to run in the Touring Division (95-125 MPH) all you need is OEM belts, a helmet, and gloves and tires that will pass tech. If you want to go faster and have any questions you can ask me, JB, Bob Benson, Justin, Larry Stock (Pantera Parts Connection), Captain Martini, Doc Abe or any of the other ORR veterans who have run and trophied at Silver State in the past.

Ely is at 7500' so make sure you have some antifreeze in your Pantera. During the last 10 years we have woke up a couple times to snow on our cars the day of the race! Doesn't happen often but you don't want to run straight water with just an additive in the Sept event due to the elevation...every year that I can remember we had clear 65-70F race days.

A 5 mile test road should be open to drivers on Friday and there is also the ONE MILE SHOOT OUT on Saturday. The ORR runs 90-miles on Sunday from Lund to Hiko. Let me know if you are planning or thinking about going or need any help with trailering extra gear, tires or wheels up to Ely if you are coming from SoCal.

I was told the usual celebrities will be there again this year.....John Schneider of Dukes of Hazard fame running the "General Lee", R.J. Gottlieb running the infamous '69 Camaro (Big Red). Also expect 135-150 or more entrys so get your motel reservations in ASAP.
