Umm, I don't think so.

The old engines, from about 63-64, both big and small blocks, used the 
1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 firing order. The Cleveland, the 351W from 1969 as well 
as the HO 5.0 engines use the 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 firing order, so I think 
you got it backwards. Or why would they change to an inferior firing order?
