I don't think it is an issue of R12 vs R134. The one on the right, the
old one, is the same as I have in my 1984 GT5. The green O-ring is
possibly an R134 part. I believe the original R12 O-rings were black.
The new hose probably fits the old panteras.
You can probably get adapters, but I would have the hoses replaced with
the proper ones. The adapters are are fairly simple, just an aluminum
piece with an O-ring on one end, and a taper in the other.
The entire AC system uses O-rings on the newer cars, except for the
compressor fittings, which were of the other type. My rotary compressor
had O-ring connections, but with adapters. When I replaced the hoses
this spring we didn't notice the adapters and installed the old type
fittings, instead of using O-ring fittings and removing the adapters :-(
