Here's what David really meant;
   
  1)  At least 50 slackers who said they were planning to go to Vegas
will now say they can't go to Vegas because the date conflicts with the
TEXAS Big Bend Open Road Race

  2)  At least 25 more slackers who said they were planning to go to Big
Bend for the ORR will now say they can't go to Texas because the date
conflicts with the VEGAS event.
   
  3.   The same 5-10 die hard open road racers will be at Texas kicking
ass, drinking Lone Stars, having fun and getting new Team Pantera Racing
tattoo's.  
   
  4.   And for the 25 (really 5) who said they couldn't make it to Texas
remember the Nevada Open is in MAY!

MD is correct when he brags no other vintage marque (crappy old car?) 
team has ever finished an open road event. (or some such hype.) When 
you go, IF you ever do, you will see all sorts of newish cars - 
plastic things, mini things, rental things, ricey things, even 
"homage" pieces to warriors of decades past (plastic cobras) but how 
many vintage cars are in attendance? Besides the 10 or so Panteras, 
maybe an old Loewy Studebaker (w/ new chebbie motor) but not much 
else. Don't forget to stay for the dance and parade of Pantera owners 
at the awards banquet.

Stand proud when folks ask you about the Pantera - HELL YES THEY RUN 
AT INSANE SPEEDS AND TAKE TROPHYS! - it helps resale, bragging rights, 
and your chances of impressing the umbrella girls (yeah, baby it IS 
older than you . . .but not quite as pretty!)

It makes me wonder why POCA can't, or won't, schedule events around 
these other HIGHLY VISIBLE gatherings. It is for the good of all when 
these old girls show their stuff in public.
