[DeTomaso] "Popping Noise" on deceleration?

 Dan,
 
 You mean the carb ran to rich at wide open throttle?
 
 I believe the idle circuit will determine mixture when your foot is totally off the gas, and it could be too lean even though the WOT circuit is too rich.
 
 Have you tried richening up the idle mixture a little?

 The interesting thing with the carb is that it ran too rich on the last engine. Of course this Clevland may be totally different so who knows. 
 We will check the exhaust and the carb,
