I can't help with your ignition problem but I propose that since bad luck comes in 3's that you be the third and save someone else the trouble. I recently attended the PCNC meeting and drove the 90 mile trip with another local Pantera. He lost a water hose leaving the meeting and I uprooted a tree with my quarter panel about 2 miles from home.
Best of luck with your fix, and hopefully everyone else will have good luck on the way home from PCNC events.

Subject: [DeTomaso] ignition problem?
Hi gang,
Today we had a harrowing experience in the Pantera. We attended the TPOC
Christmas party which was held in orange county. We had a wonderful time and
met up with some old friends. On our way back to Glendale, on the 605
freeway, going 70 miles an hour in the carpool lane the engine decides to quit. I
then have to maneuver across four lanes of traffic to get onto the shoulder.
I try to restart the car but nothing happens. I use a cell phone to call
the auto club, as the cars are whizzing by, to give him our location and the
necessary info to get a tow. While I'm on the phone I try to restart the car
and it starts, this happens 2 more times on the freeway before we go home.
Each time after a few minutes it would start but not at first.
Here is my question
It sounds like an ignition problem, not a fuel problem.
This car has an old Hays module. Could this be the problem?
If I need to replace it, what electronic distributor would you recommend
that I use for a.Pantera.
A would appreciate your comments
