while on the subject, I believe there is a valve up under the dash where the evaporator is (exchange valve?) that is also recommended to be changed - is this the name - is this a NAPA type part (if so, identifier please) - and any tips/tricks on this change?

by the way - is there any reason to keep these original parts (e.g., drier? exchange valve?) - thanks, stephen

Hi All - I understand the "dryer" for the ac system is available at a NAPA type store - would anybody have an interchange number to a Ford (or other) number that can track through the systems of a NAPA or O'Reilly, etc? Also, used some locking pliers for the ac hoses in and out of the dryer - does anyone know what size these are (seem just smaller than 3/4) - thanks! Stephen
