[DeTomaso] Substitute for racers/gaffers tape?

Anyone on the List know where to get the material that car mfg's are using to put on new cars that are being shipped to protect them from damage? 
   
  In the last year or so I've seen it on the top and sides of NEW cars being transported  on carriers.....Looks like its easy on and off and a good substitute for front end and bottom rear quarter panels to protect from the usual rock damage during competition.
