My understanding is *all* pushbuttons were to be sold in Europe, but 75 of
the 300 or so were skuttled to the US per agreement with Ford.

I have a very late pushbutton, and I'm still searching for an erlier serial
numbered pull handle model.  I have a gut feeling that they were producing
both during the move from Turin to Modena.
