Sounds like you might have Spicer half shafts. The u-joints are Neapco pn 2-0054, 5-160x, they also fit Ford F500
5 Ton Trucks. I found this info in SoBill's database a month ago. They are the correct part
number for spicers because I just bought them and replaced mine.

Good Luck and thanks to SoBill.

Thanks a lot for all the thought, and help on finding these terminal boot
covers, terminal insulators, or weatherproof boots. At least now I've got a
few names to use during my hunt.

Of all the suggestions, I think the best is to check with the auto
electrical shop that provided the 140 amp Toyo alternator for me. I bet
they're going to have the boots.

I've gone to my local auto parts stores, and got blank stares from an
assortment of counterguys. Lots of blank stares, by lotsa guys and gals. No
one laughed however!

I've also requested catalogs from just about every vendor that has been
mentioned. So that's going to be a big help down the road.... literally.

Now for my next problem....

I want to change out my drive shaft U-joints to a 'joint that has a zerk
fitting. I've gone thru our beloved SOBill's Gearhead database, and then
took those numbers to the parts stores (along with one of my drive shafts).
Unfortunately my 'joints are larger than the Gearhead part numbers show. My
bearing cups are 1.250 inches in diameter, and approximately 4.160" across
from cup end to cup end. The stock 'joints show a 1.125" cup diameter, and
quite a bit smaller across the cups.

This would seem to indicate that my 'shafts are larger than normal (that is
NOT a straight line for Larry C). So my new question is:

Does anyone have a part number or suggestion regarding a heavy duty drive
shaft zerk fitting u-joint that has 1.250" diameter cups, and is
approximately 4.160" across the cups?

Thanks again,

Chris
